The International Society for Antiviral Research presents awards for excellence in scientific poster presentations at the annual Conference. The awards will be presented to recognize young investigators for their outstanding contributions to antiviral research. Awards will be based on criteria including scientific excellence, innovative research methodology, clarity and organization of presentation materials, and competence of the investigator in responding to the poster audience. Award recipients will be chosen by the Poster Award Subcommittee, a panel of ISAR members. Awards will be presented in each of the following categories for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Awardees will receive a certificate, cash award and recognition on the website and social media.
You must present your poster in-person to be eligible for the Poster Awards and you will be expected to upload an electronic poster prior to the conference. You are not eligible to compete if you won a poster award the prior year, unless you are competing in a different category. Virtual only posters will not be considered for a poster award. Participants in the awards competition will identify the appropriate category on the poster board during the poster presentation. Abstracts chosen for oral presentations will be eligible for an award if a poster is also submitted. Please note that poster award participants may also be selected to present a "shotgun" talk which takes place on the final day of the conference. An invitation to present a "shotgun" talk is typically sent shortly after the final poster session. Congratulations to the ICAR2026 Poster Award Winners!
