Dear reader,
I wish you, also on behalf of the officers and the board of directors, a happy, exciting and healthy 2020. We hope to wellcome you all, in less than 3 months from now, at ICAR in Seattle. I am sure that you already noticed that we have an excellent line-up of speakers, including several top-speakers, covering a wide range of interesting, timely topics. There will be 4 outstanding award lectures, the Gertrude Elion Memorial Award goes to Ann Kwong, the William Prusoff Memorial Award to Jason McLellan, the Antonín Holý Memorial Award to Kathie Seley-Radtke and the Women in Science Speaker Award will soon be announced. The abstract-review team did a great job in carefully reviewing the abstracts that were submitted by the first deadline; hence you can also already learn about which abstracts have been selected for oral presentations. Like last year, there is also a second abstract deadline (end of January) for those authors that do not wish to compete for an oral presentation. I kindly invite you to submit your best work for a poster presentation. Please remember that there are poster awards, of substantial monetary value, in various categories [Graduate students, Post-doctoral and young investigator (junior faculty member or the equivalent)]. We are most grateful to David Chu and family for funding the Chu Family Scholarships for early career woman in Science.
Seattle is a wonderful city with fantastic surrounding nature. The conference dinner will be organized in a stunning place at the waterfront.
Once again, I hope to wellcome you in Seattle.
Kind regards,
Johan Neyts, President of ISAR
